Collected Interiors oversaw the aesthetic makeover of this family home located in Scarborough, Western Australia. We wanted to bring a sense of calm and tranquility and used a soothing palette of turquoise, soft beiges and whites, taking inspiration from the coastal location and natural environment.

Layers of textiles were used to create a sense of calm and simplicity, with white sheer curtains and shades of turquoise for the rugs. The walls were painted crisp white, and light timber floors were installed in the extension to contrast with the existing jarrah floor.

Maintaining a white colour palette in the kitchen, we chose to create interest through textures and a combination of materials. This kitchen features a pressed tin bulk head, gloss white cabinetry, stone bench tops and a glass splash back. The home, although modest in size, has a sense of space and airiness. The beauty is in its simplicity and it’s practicality in design for a family of five.
