Ten years after the first renovation we did together, the client came back. He’d bought a new home, a 1980s City Beach house with six bedrooms, generous proportions, and a layout that worked. It didn’t need walls moved or rooms reworked. It needed every surface, every fitting, every piece of furniture brought into the present.

We refreshed the whole interior with new paint, flooring, lighting, and window treatments, and worked through the room with the longest wall differently. The living room called for a large TV cabinet, but rather than letting that dominate the space, we integrated a curved bench seat into the joinery. The seat sits beneath the morning-light window, where his daughters now read.
